WOW!!! It's been a long time since i haven't had so much fun art journalling !
Yesterday i went to spend the whole day at my friend's, Isa, who lives 20 minutes from here. We had an ART party just the two of us and it was so great ! It's fun to create, laugh, talk, drink coffee or diet coke, play again, get dirty hands with paints and such with someone who thinks just the same way as you do!
I worked in a couple of project and this page comes from my dear friend Sarah Fishburn's art journal.
And i have to admit that this Round Robin has been one of the BEST collaborative projects i've ever organized or done!!!!!!!! These girls aren't only WAY TALENTED, they are the most trustful, honest, generous, open-minded and kind persons i know...and i am blessed to be in such a group of artists.
I truely enjoyed making this spread in Sarah's journal...i'm not used to playing with such vibrant colors but i quite like the result ! to be honest, i so like it that i'm going to get it printed and frame it in my dining room ! :D
by the way, i will have prints available for sale on my website soon, so stay tuned!
Let me tell you how FRUSTRATED, ANGRY and MAD i am right now!
Back in February, i was contacted by LARK books. They wanted me to submit up to 3 altered books for an upcoming publication of theirs.
I worked my butt off, made 3 pretty good books, i was very happy with them and, honestly, i think they are probably one of my most accomplished artwork in books.
I sent them scans : they LOVED them all! and they wanted them to publish them in the book! YOOHOO!
so i sent the books to their office. They took ages to photograph them. They said they would send them back to me in July.
When we moved back to France, I emailed them about 5 times telling them not to send my books back to my address in Montreal as i was moving back to France. Each time, i received an email saying they had noted it an dupdated their address database.
This morning i get an email from the Assistant Editor saying that she had sent my books back but didn't know they had to be sent to France!!!!
I AM MAD!!! Nobody can return my books from there, the only hope that i have to see my books back someday is that the Canadian PO returns the package to the LARK office as there is an UPS tracking number...
Marilyn amazes me : she is one of my favorite scrapbook artists (and god knows i don't have that many favorites as i don't scrapbook), when i invited her, i knew she would make something amazing. She has this ability to create something that is purely different from what she is used to making and yet she makes it HERS all the way !
She's one of the artists in the collaborative project i'm hosting ( PLAY! ) and she has her Art Journal cover on her blog !!!!
Please please please go and have a look at her PLAY! photo album on her blog : you won't regret it !
and guess what?!!! i only got ONE of my first choices classes!!!!!
I was SURE i would get Nina Bagley's class on Thursday as it wasn't stated as FULL on the website .I was a little bit disappointed until i realized i stated Albie Smith as my FIRST CHOICE!!!! can you say i'm STUPID!!!? so my apologies, i did get my first choice class on that first day! :)
So i've got Albie Smith on Thrusday, which is cool though as i really loved her project. And you know, i've been having a real love affair with Gesso! :D
