Here I am! Back from the States where I spent an amazing week :) I was lucky to attend CHA, seeing new and old friends, meet the Studio Calico girls, Liz Kartchner (she's a doll) and way more but I'll post all about it in a post tomorrow :) with photos! :)
Oh and I forgot...we managed to sHOP as well! :D We found a MAC store (how surprising...hum hum...:D). I thought I could resist but the prices were so interesting compared to France, that I just couldn't...so couldn't my friends, who bought wayyyy more than I did! LOL
So I got a new blue eye shadow palette and 2 nail polishs, a cream and a RED one which is MY INSPIRATION for today! I got home with ugly brown polished nails on saturday night, and got it off on sunday and tried my new RED MAC nail polish and OH MY! this RED is PERFECT!
That's why I was inspired to create a RED layout :)
So my theme today is RED!
I'm pretty sure you are scared but you are getting used to it, ain't ya?! :D And finally, you dive in everytime and try out the new challenges! I'm proud of you!
First of all, supply list...
- Papers : Hambly, October Afternoon, Sassafras, American Crafts
- Rubons : Studio Calico, October Afternoon
- Alphas : Kesiart
- Stickers : My Little Shoebox, Kesiart, Studio Calico
- Enveloppe : Maya Road
- Ribbons : Melissa Frances, Jenni Bowlin
First, I looked for products and embellishments that are different shades of RED. You don't have to work with the same shade of RED (which would be impossible to do by the way, unless you do everything yourself with the same acrylic paint).
I couldn't resist using this new Habmyl doily paper, which is a new product released at CHA last week, and 2 new October Afternoon papers as well :)
You will also need this cute little Melissa Frances ribbon, that I dyed using Color Wash ink.
Use your Color Wash on a craft sheet and add a tiny bit of water. Grab your ribbon and make the ink soak into the fibers of the ribbon.
Be careful with your fingers : the Color Wash ink stays for days! :D
I used a heat gun to make it dry faster but don't get it too close to the ribbons though.
I also tried out my new favorite punches from Martha Stewart! :D
And here are photos of my layout...
Red allows me to highlight the other colors on my photo...My NEW favorite butterfly punch from Martha Stewart :)
So your turn now! Red is a gorgeous color, don't you think? Don't be scared to send me a link of your layout when you're done, ok? and if you have any questions, feel free to email : firstname.lastname@example.org :)
